Text Box: And, as always, in order to vote at the Area Meeting for the election or at the MASWCD Business Meeting on the resolutions, you need to have paid your MASWCD dues of $450 in full. Text Box: Resolutions for the MASWCD Business Meeting at the Training Conference need to be submitted by September 1. This allows time for them to be sent back out to the Districts for their review and discussion prior to the Business Meeting on November 30. September 1 is also the deadline for award nominations for MASWCD awards. Those awards are Cooperator of the Year, Teacher of the Year, and Distinguished Service. Grassland Farmer awards should have already been Text Box: submitted to your Area Director for Area awards. The Area winners will then be judged for a state winner. Posters will be due by November 1 to the Program Office for judging for the Poster Contest winners. These awards will all be presented at the Tuesday evening banquet. The District Employee Association Awards will be presented at the Tuesday luncheon, along with the presentation of the winning speech from the FFA Speech Contest. Text Box: Resolutions & Awards Text Box: Missouri Places 11th at Canon Envirothon Text Box: The 2010 Missouri Envirothon team from Pembroke Hill High School competed in the Canon Envirothon in Fresno, California the first week of August. There were teams from 45 States and 9 Canadian Provinces also competing. Canon Envirothon is a weeklong North American environmental education competition sponsored by Canon USA, Inc. Students are Text Box: tested on their knowledge of sols and land use, aquatic ecology, forestry, wildlife and an additional current environmental issue. This year’s theme was Protection of Groundwater Through Urban, Agricultural and Environmental Planning. The Missouri team placed 11th at the competition. Each student and the advisor received Canon Cameras.
