The Road to Conservation Starts at Home!
Text Box: The schedule has been adjusted slightly to allow for the times of the major business meetings and sessions to not overlap. The on-line registration should be open by late August. Text Box: The 2010 MASWCD Training Conference will be held November 29—December 1, 2010, at Tan-Tar-A Resort in Osage Beach. The theme for this year’s conference is “Cooperative Conservation.” The format for the conference will be similar to last year’s conference with a few minor changes. There will be a Partner Forum again this year on Tuesday as well as workshops, MASWCD business meeting, Soil and Water Commission meeting and Employees Association business meeting. Text Box: Keynote speaker at the Opening Session on Monday will be NRCS Chief Dave White from Washington, D.C. Chief White actually started his NRCS career in Missouri. Following the Opening Session there will be a live auction with the proceeds targeted for the MASWCD legislative fund. More information on the auction will be available soon. MASWCD Award winners will be recognized at the Tuesday evening banquet followed by musical entertainment. Text Box: Training Conference Text Box: MASWCD Awards Text Box: Nominations for the MASWCD awards are due September 1, 2010. The Grassland Farmer Award entries are due to your MASWCD Area Director by August 1 for selection of area winners.. The Grassland Farmer area winners are recognized at the MASWCD Area Meetings, then their entry is submitted for a selection of a state Grassland Farmer winner. Text Box: The state award winners will be recognized at the Training Conference at the Tuesday evening banquet. Winners receive a plaque and $100 cash award. Go to the MASWCD web site at www.maswcd.net for more information on the Awards. Entries need to be submitted to either your MASWCD Area Director or to Peggy Lemons by the due date.
