Text Box:  2008 MASWCD Award Winners 

I. POSTER CONTEST:
The poster contest will judge winners in seven categories: grades K-1, 2-3, 4-6, 
	7-9, 10-12, grades 4-6 posters painted with soil paint, and grades 10-12 computer 
   	designed poster.
The poster contest should incorporate and state the theme of "Dig It, The Secrets 
  	of Soil".
Any size between 8.5" x 11" and 22" x 28" will be accepted.
The first place state winner in each category will receive a cash award of $50.
District winning posters will be due to the Program Office by November 1. 
The judging of the posters will be prior to November 25.

State winning posters are forwarded to NACD for national competition by December 1.
                   

II. COOPERATOR OF THE YEAR AWARD:

A. A simplified entry form consisting of a one-page letter of the accomplishments and reasons why this entry should receive the award for Cooperator of the Year should be submitted to your Area Director or the MASWCD office by September 1.

B. The selected winner will be presented a cash award of $100 during the Training Conference.

 

III. DISTINGUISHED SERVICE / SPECIAL SERVICE AWARD:

A. This award could be presented to anyone in the state of Missouri for outstanding service to Soil and Water Conservation.

B. A one-page letter on the accomplishments and reasons why this entry should receive the award is all that is needed.

C. Submit all entries to your Area Director or the MASWCD office by September 1.

D. The winner will be presented a cash award of $100 during the Training Conference.

 

IV. CONSERVATION EDUCATION TEACHER OF THE YEAR:

A. A simplified entry form consisting of a one-page letter of the accomplishments and reasons why this entry should receive the award for Missouri Conservation Teacher of the Year should be submitted to your Area Director or the MASWCD office by September 1.

B. The selected winner will be presented a cash award of $100 during the Training Conference.  

 

V. GRASSLAND FARMER AWARD:

A. Each District is sent the entry form and directions for the Grassland Farmer of the Year Award in January.

B. Nominations for the Grassland Farmer Award are due to your MASWCD Area Director by August 1 for selection of the Area Award. This Area Award will be presented at the MASWCD Area Meetings. Please use the entry form below, since there are periodic changes in the form.

C. The area winners will be submitted to the MASWCD office by September 1 for selection of the state winner.

D.    The selected state winner will be presented a cash award of $100 during the Training Conference.
