2014 GRASSLAND AWARDS PROGRAM

MASWCD will present a GRASSLAND FARMER OF THE YEAR award at the Training Conference. Our objective is to promote proper management of Missouri's grassland resource and recognize district cooperators who are doing an outstanding job of grassland management.

The form for submitting nominations is enclosed, and the point system to be used for judging is incorporated on the form. Entries received must be on the enclosed form.  Each district may submit one nomination for MASWCD area competition, and submit it to their Area Director by August 1. Area Directors should establish a selection committee which will meet between August 1-15 to choose the area winner. Area awards will be presented at the Area Supervisors' Meetings.

Area winners will be the nominees for the state award and their nomination form should be forwarded to Peggy Lemons, Executive Director, MASWCD, 1209 Biscayne Drive, Jefferson City, MO 65109, by September 1.  A state review group will select the state winner in October.

Districts are encouraged to publicly recognize their nominee as a recipient of the local district award. Many districts do this with some type of a pasture management award. Questions may be directed to Peggy Lemons.
